First Broken Bone.

THIS POST CONTAINS SOME DISTRESSING IMAGES!

So...I have now broken my first bone. How did I do it? It's actually a pretty funny story:

I was at my dance school on the Monday in Jazz class and everything was normal and we were rehearsing our dance for our dance recital that was coming up soon. I was told to do my section of the dance, I did so by then doing a run into a split leap where then I knew I fucked up. I stopped thinking of all things around me and just felt the pain rushing through my foot. I had landed onto my ankle on the landing instead of my foot.
Now.. I then blanked out for 2 minutes so I don't remember much but my friends in class with me said my face turned white and my eyes went extremely wide, and that I apparently lowered myself to the ground and moved away from my teacher in a weird exorcist looking style. Even though this would have been uncomfortable to watch I wish someone filmed me as I had no recollection or remembrance of that happening which I think is pretty interesting and funny.

I told you the images were distressing...

I remember from when my friends gave me ice packs on the floor and my dance teacher sat next to me and said: "don't worry Lexi, it is just a sprain, you are just in shock, you are fine!" By this point I still had not cried or screamed but then I looked down to my foot and saw how swelled up it was I cried for 10 seconds and then told my friend next to me "sorry i really want to be brave this is probably just shock."

Little did I know that my ankle was actually broken.

When I went to the hospital the next morning and they told me this I then cried for over an hour as I straight away realized I was not going to be able to dance for a good 2 months which meant I was out of the dance recital.
The plasterer was trying to calm me down on the table as I was balling my eyes out as he said
"Oh well next week you get to have your full cast and you can choose any pretty color to have on."

I did not care about the bloody colors. I cared about my ankle being actually broken.
But anyways my ankle is in a half cast right now and to be honest with you now I am looking forward to my full cast as it will probably look better than my half cast right now:

Deciding the color has already been done for me as well cause I explained to my friends that I didn't care so they decided pink just so that they can sign it.

So I wish this experience didn't happen but I also believe things happen for a reason so I hope this makes me stronger and helps me in some way of form which I have not discovered yet.

Finally starting a blog...

So I have been wanting to write a blog for a really long time now but have never had the time to get round to it. Now that I have badly injured my hip and have some spare time on my hands I figured this would be the perfect time to at least start my blog. I should probably explain why I have injured my hips.. but I'll get round to that.
Firstly I thought I would explain to you a little bit about myself; I was born Alexis Frances Martyna Cross (although most people call me Lexi) on the 14th of February 1998. So yes I was a valentines baby but having your birthday on Valentines Day comes with highs and lows, but I'll explain that in another post. I have many interests but I am mainly focused on dance, performing arts, modelling, photography, fitness and FOOD! I dance 24 hours a week within my dance school and college, which brings me to explain my hip injury. I have hyper mobility syndrome which is where you are double jointed in almost all of your joints which explains why I can do some strangely flexible positions compared to others. This syndrome also contains a sleeping condition where I have to make sure I have enough sugar in my system and that I have slept a good amount of hours. Anyway my hips are obviously fragile and recently have been popping out socket quite often so I have been to a lot of physio therapy appointments.. which means free massages! So even though I am still going to be attending college, dance school and work I now have a small amount of extra time to rest my hips and create this blog.
I have decided that I'll do separate posts about my individual interests because otherwise this first post would be ridiculously long.

As a kid I was pretty crazy but then again most of my family members are, my older sister and I joke about our family being the British version of the Kardashians. I was born in England and lived there for 3 years then my family and I moved to the Algarve in Portugal for 10 years, my dad wasn't around a lot as he was a pilot so I lived with my mum and my older sister and after a few years I also lived with my younger sister. When I was younger I was very lucky and got to travel most of the world with my family which has really got me interested to travel more in the future to make more new experiences. Here are a few images from a few of my travels as a child:

In the Maldives (I am in white, my older sister in blue)

DisneyLand California (I'm the small one with the weird expression)

Lotte World in Korea

Outside the Royal Opera House in Sydney
In Venice (I am on the left and my sister has the pigeon pooing on her)

There have been many other places I have visited but I don't really want to bore you.

As you can see in the photos my older sister and I had a really close relationship which was really good to have when I turned 12 and went to boarding school in England with my boarding school. My older sister and I were really nervous at first of course from moving away from our family and starting a new school, but boarding school turned out to be one of the best things I have ever experienced in my personal opinion. We lived there for 3 years and over that time we both made so many friends which we are still friends with now and will always stay in contact with.
- My Spanish best friend Paula I met at Boarding school and am currently at college with -

So that brings me to current time, I am currently at college in England and exploring all my interests. Hopefully I will be able to post on here at least once a week to add to being a new hobby of mine but we shall see...
